On a beautiful morning at Lake Ndutu, south of the Serengeti in Tanzania, I had the great good luck to be in the one vehicle that had Flamingos close enough to photograph. I decided to try my luck with my new variable neutral density filter. For the first few minutes there was little movement, making the slower shutter speed useless, and then all at once the whole flock took off at once! I shot 15 frames, twisting the filter the whole time. This one is my favorite.
